Zap!

Hello friends,
Have you missed me? I've taken a short leave of absence, but I'm back and eager to show you my latest manicure design. If you've followed me for a while, you know that I love Mundo de Unas stamping polishes. And that I use them in most of my stamping manicures. For this one, I used MuD silver. The design reminded me of the time I stuck a pair of tweezers in an electrical socket when I was a kid. Yes. I got a little zap and a few sparks, but my curiosity was satisfied. So that you know, tweezers fit perfectly into an electrical socket. For anyone who has ever wondered about that, now you know, and you don't need to be zapped to find out.

What do think of my manicure? What do you think of my childish antics?
Ciao for now.

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow...Please!

Due to inclement weather, schools are closed...Yay! What's better is, my office is closed too, double Yay! So, let's see, what have I accomplished with my time? Not a darn thing. Well, that's not exactly true. I got the boys to help me with a few things around the house, and my big boy put a dent in the pile of laundry. So, I guess I did, in fact, accomplish something.  I'll tell you what else I accomplished, a winter inspired manicure.

I had a bit of fun with this because I used quite a few rhinestones, which I like almost as much as I like glitter.

I guess I better do something else constructive with my time, like clean the fish tank. A few months ago my son won a fish at a carnival. He named it Fred and has ignored it ever since. Fred could die and be replaced with a completely different species and my kid would never know it. I guess Fred is technically my fish, then...maybe I could rename him...

If you have snow in your part of the world, I hope you're  enjoying it as much as we are!
Ciao for now!

Blue Sequins

Hello friends,
I promised you a metallic blue manicure, and I aim to deliver. Today's base color is a light metallic sky blue. Over it, I applied blue, green, orange and assorted metallic colored hex sequins.

I started with a simple metallic sky blue polish and loaded the tips of my nails with rings of colored sequins. I went all out on the ring finger because I missed my glitter. More sparkle the better. Overdone is never wrong...unless it's food...or makeup.
Ciao for now!

Plum Rose Manicure

Hello friends,
Today I have a manicure with a trio of colors and a bit of stamping. I took pictures in stages, so you'll get an idea of how it was done.

I didn't over think which colors to use on which nail. However, I did want the rose gold foil polish to go on the ring finger.

No striping tape for me. Nope, not today. It's not that I'm so level handed that I don't need help with straight lines, I just got lucky. Yes, the stars were aligned and the moon was in proper placement for the making of a miracle. And drawing straight lines (diagonal nonetheless!) is indeed, quite a miracle. Who says dreams don't come true?

I might never be able to do this again, so check out my straight lines one more time.

Ok, next comes my favorite technique, reverse stamping, also known as advanced stamping, decals...whatever.  It's all the same and fun to do. Unfortunately, I didn't photo my work station as I did the decals, but suffice it to say that I used black MdU with plum and rose gold polishes to fill in the spaces. Two fingers were enough, don't you think? For some reason, I wanted to use a rhinestone. There you have it!

Next week, I plan to do a silvery blue manicure. Until then, enjoy your weekend.

Purple Glitter Manicure

Hello lovelies,
I ended the year with glitter, and I'm beginning the new one with...wait for it...glitter! Yes, gotta have that sparkly stuff. And as for purple, well, it's just as good as any other color, and it was closest to me at the moment. So, I went with it. Silver because, what goes better with glitter than silver? There you have it. As you can see, I returned to stamping. My room overhaul is complete, more or less, and I have easy access to all my polishes, tools and supplies. I'm a happy camper, as the saying goes. Organizing your stuff is a great way to start a new year, so I took advantage of some much needed, and well deserved time off work and did some organizing to get the year off to a good start. I might show you a few of my systems, and what I've done to make life just a little bit easier. But, that's for another post.
