31 Day Challenge: Day 29 Supernatural

I had such a hard time with this manicure. I didn't want to do scary, and I couldn't decide between mermaid, fairy or unicorn. So I chose two ladies, fairy and mermaid.

The second to the last manicure for the challenge is a tutorial. Check it out.

31 Day Challenge: Day 28 Flag

Hello Polish Lovers. This 28th day of the challenge is inspired by a flag. Any flag. I chose Sweden because I just finished reading the most recent (or last?) book in the Millennium series (we know it as the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) titled The Girl in the Spiders Web.  Great series if you're looking for a good crime novel series. With that book in mind, I googled the Swedish flag, and luckily, it was one that I could easily duplicate, unlike one with intricate emblems like the Mexican flag. Good thing I didn't recently read Like Water for Chocolate.

I used Tip of the iceberg by Whim and D'oh! by Wet n Wild

31 Day Challenge: Day 27 Art Work Nails

#31DC2015 Art Work

Wired art is what I chose to duplicate for this art inspired manicure challenge. The cute wire kitty looks like my little girl (I call her my little girl because I live in a testosterone filled home where us girls have to stick together.)

                                                             Cute Coco Kitty
On to the nails. I used a nail art technique where you draw squiggles through polish painted on a surface (In this case, the Uber Mat). The result is an abstract wire-look. Once the polish and top coat dry it can be applied like a decal onto the nails.

Here's what I used.

Kleancolor's Metallic White and Metallic Black

The next challenge, which I hope to post later today, is nail art inspired by a flag.

31 Day Challenge: Day 26 Pattern Nails

#31DC2015 Pattern Nails

I know. I know I've been MIA a few days here and there. A little behind on the challenge, but I'm here today, so let's go with that. We'll see about tomorrow when it comes. Sometimes you just have to grab a little ME time or family time when you can. This weekend I got to spend some time with family and catch up on what's going on with all of us. What made it extra special was that I got to spend time with my Uncle who has very strong opinions about life. He's from the WWII era and the struggles back then were very different than the ones we have today. I enjoyed an eye opening history lesson. I could write about it all day, but that's not what you guys are waiting for. I'm setting thoughts of air raids and war aside for now.

The challenge today is patterned nails. I chose this one because I was in a hurry and it was the first patterned plate I put my hands on. I paired a Revlon polish with Moyou London's blue stamping polish.

Here's what I used.

31 Day Challenge: Day 25 Nails Inspired by Fashion

Hi there fashion frenzied friends. Today's challenge was a nail design inspired by fashion. I found a picture of pretty blue dresses that I thought fits the challenge quite well.

31 Day Challenge: Day 24 Inspired by a Book

The Selection by Kiera Cass is the book I chose for the inspired by a book challenge. Who doesn't like a rags to riches princess fairy tale with a palace, a handsome prince and a kingdom? Of course, this series was a hit for YA readers. I admit to reading my share of the genre.

Here's what I used.

Blue Pearl by Konad
Unknown glitter by L.A. Colors

31 Day Challenge: Day 23 Inspired by a movie

#31dc2015 Inspired by a Movie: The Maze Runner

Hi there friends, I had to decide whether to use this manicure for the Inspired by a movie or Inspired by a book challenge because this was both, and I liked both equally. The Maze Runner by James Dashner.

I used an earthy golden color base for the background to capture the woodsy outdoor scenery in the movie. Obviously, I chose a maze design for the tall foliage covered maze that the boys ran through, and the map they created and added to day after day. On my ring finger I stamped green leaves.

Here's what I used.

31 Day Challenge: Day 22 Inspired By a Song

#31dc2015. Inspired by a song

Because I'm Happy....
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I'm happy....
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth…

I think everyone's heard of Pharrell William's Happy which was a huge hit last year, and an even bigger ear worm to anyone who's heard it more than once. It just kinda burrowed down into your head for days and days. It reminds me of good times with my kids dancing in the kitchen and blasting music through the house. Yeah, good times.

I'm happy about the next challenge, nails inspired by a movie.
Ciao for now.

31Day Challenge: Day 21 Inspired by a Color

Hello lovelies. How do you choose just one color when there are so many beautiful hues to choose from? Eerie meenie mini mo. That's how. So for the "Inspired by a color" challenge prompt, I came up with purple.  Not to mention that I have more than 30 of them ranging from the palest, almost white lavender, to the boldest deep almost blue purple. Sparkles, glitters, creams, holos, shimmers, and even a crackle (where did that come from?) Note to self: find a matte and a textured purple. Of course I couldn't use them all, but 6 (plus one pink holo) was enough.

Here's what I used.

31 Day Challenge: Day 20 Water Marble

#31DC2015 Water Marble

Hi friends, last night I worked on a water marble mani.   Like yesterday's galaxy design, this technique is relatively new for me. It took me several attempts, but this last one most resembled a true water marble. Many thanks goes out to Colette of My Simple Little Pleasures who I thought was the Queen of Water Marble. But after actually trying it myself, I upgrade her title to the Goddess of Water Marble. Her technique is flawless, her instructions are point on, and her designs are attractive and creative. Colette, you're a genius.

31 Day Challenge: Day 19. Galaxies

Hello friends, this weekend was a troubled one. Technical issues prevented me from posting for the challenge, and at one point. I though I might not be able to finish the challenge at all. But there will always be set backs and there will always be lemonade to make from  all of those wonderful lemons that life tosses our way. So I gave myself the weekend to get things back in order as much as possible, and set out today to continue on with the challenge.

The prompt for today is galaxy nails, which I've never done before. It was an interesting technique, and I think I pulled it off, but just barely. I'm sure I'll have another opportunity to try it again one day.
