Happy New Year! The First LBD Polish of 2018 Is Here!

Well friends,  it's a new year.

We celebrated all that we experienced in 2017,  and now we look forward to all that 2018 has in store for us.

I decided to start off 2018 with a new sparkly gold polish with holographic glitter.  The polish is named New Year Celebration! And it's currently available in the LBD store.  You can find it here.

I have to say that the photos don't do it justice.  I'll have to take a few photos in sunlight to show the full affect.  This polish is a topper designed to be worn over a black base.  But, it works just as well on its own in 2 or more coats.  The pics here show the polish on bare nails without a black base coat.  I'll get busy on a few photos with a black base.  <Note to self:  Get it together girl and get those pics done!>
I hope to get out a few more polishes soon.  Patience,  my lovelies.

Till next time,  Ciao Bellas!

New Holographic Summer Trio by LBD

Summer Holographic Gemstone Trio

Hi Ladies!
It's been too long, but, boy oh boy do I have news for you.  Today LBD Nail Lacquer released a holographic trio that might knock your socks off... or stockings, or whichever you're wearing.  This collection is part one of two sets.  The second trio will be released this fall.

Obviously this collection was inspired by Earth's crystal treasures,  but here's my inspiration story.   As I was digging through a bag of old, forgotten jewellery,  I came across a pair of gold sandstone earrings that I adored. I can't figure out why I had stored them away.  I polished them up and put them on and eagerly scanned through my closet to find something to go with them. I know, traditionally you're supposed to match accessories to outfits, but I love accessories more than clothes so I find outfits to go match my accessories. Weird, right?

Years ago I used to make jewelry. I had to set my hobby aside due to time constraints and circumstances, but as I stared at those stones the jewelry making bug bit me and I thought, "Wouldn't it be great if I could merge my two favorite things--  making jewelry and making nail polish?"  The best I could come up with was to make a gold sandstone polish to match the earrings. I decided I liked the holo polish and made a few more, representing a couple more of my favorite crystals. And that's how the story goes.

Click on the pics below for more information about each polish and the set.
Ciao Bellas!

Back To Fashion For Inspiration...Where's My Muse?

Hi friends,
It's been a super busy summer for me.  I can't tell you how many times I've tried to sit down and prepare a post just to find out (at the last minute) that my oldest has a basketball game/practice , or my youngest needs a ride across town to hang out with his friends.  And when I finally get settled in to do a manicure, I run into painters block. Color minus the creativity. Let's face it, that's probably not what you're here to see. I can't even decide on a simple stamp to use.  I've got nothing ladies. I'm drawing a blank here. Zero, nada, nani mo, nichego, niente, rien. Or in the words of my childhood friends,  not a doggone thing. So what do you do when your brain and all your creative energies have gone on vacation?  I pull inspiration from any place I can, that's what I do.  After a recent shopping trip (much needed retail therapy), I used colors from a new outfit for my muse.  Peach is a popular color this year, so I pulled out a peachy polish, a coordinating plum and a splash of gold. The design didn't come out quite like I planned, so I threw on a clear holographic topcoat because nothing solves a problem like holo or glitter (or both in this case).  And voila! A light, summery peachy mani.

Either I keep shopping for clothes and bust my budget, or I do what I did last year and flip through magazines and surf the net for drool-worthy furniture and room decor that I can't afford.  Now that's inspiration! So you might be in store for a few upholstery recreations. Odd, I know. But it works. Go with it.

Help me out. Tell me what you want to see.  Drop me a comment below. Until next time,
Ciao for now!
